Baby Food

One of my favorite pictures of Lena. Lena checking out the Squash before mommy cooked it.
As y'all know we started Lena on baby food almost a month ago. I have known that I wanted to make her baby food but wasn't sure how to do it. One of my friends, who has a little boy, told me about the website www.wholesomebabyfoods.com. It gives you every recipe you can think of to make baby food and it is SO EASY!! I had so much fun doing it. It is about 20 cents an ounce to baby Gerber baby food. It is 28 cents an ounce for me to make applesauce (so not really worth it), 13 cents an ounce for Squash and 4 cents an ounce for Sweet Potatoes (Very worth it)!! I have only made those 3 so far and the freezer is stock but plan to try bananas, pears, avocado, and green beans soon. Here are a couple of pictures....

Applesauce and Squash

About to puree the Sweet Potatoes

Squash

Getting ready to freeze. If you freeze it in ice trays it is about 1 ounce a cube.

Sweet Potatoes
She loves it all!!

  1. Impressive! I am going to have to get some tips from you in the near future. Spencer is all about making our own baby food.
