Sign Language

When I was in the Infant classroom a few years back, Laura and I taught the kids sign language. The parents loved it and it really helped with communication before the children could talk. We have been working with Lena for about a week and she is learning"more". I'm not sure if she really gets the concept of what it means (cause she will look at us and do it randomly and smile) but we are working on it. Here is a video that Angela taped this weekend.

Something new everyday

Lena just seems to be learning something new everyday. She is all over the place now and into everything. You can't turn away for a second. She is also pulling up on everything now so you have to watch her extra close.

Today she figured out that the leaf on her jumper turns. Here is a short video. She is just so cute and truly amazes us how smart she is.

Our little Princess started pulling up by herself yesterday, May 23! She hasn't mastered it yet but is close. She amazes us everyday!

Always Dada's fault

Lena was trying to make it into the kitchen to eat her breakfast. She just wasn't in the crawling mood. And it was all Dada's fault (cause that is the only ones name she can say). This is the only time we have gotten her to say it on video.

Lena is CRAWLING!!!!

Our little Princess started crawling Monday!! We are so excited but wish she wasn't growing up so fast. I will post more pictures later.

May..so far

There was a storm coming in last Sunday, so the wind was really strong. Lubin went to look out the back window at how strong it was right when a tree fell on the house.

Luckily it did not do any damage to our house (only the fence) and no one was hurt.

Then that night, when we were getting ready for bed, Lubin walked down the hall and noticed the carpet in front of the air handler was soaking wet. The pipe were the condensation drains was clogged and it flooded the hallway. This is after our air conditioner has a freon leak (which they can't find) and they are going to have to replace the whole unit.

Wednesday morning Lubin went to go feed the dogs and I could hear him yelling "....on the grill." I asked him what he said and he told me to come up there. This is what I found. Bailey had jumped ON TOP of the grill sometime during the night. It is a charcoal grill so we were not worried about it being on and burning her. I had to run and get my camera so we could take a picture. Lubin said she had to have been up there for a while cause there was tons of hair on the racks. She was shaking she was so scared. I don't think she will be doing that again.

We are truly blessed that no one was hurt (in the tree falling and Bailey on the grill) and that the air conditioner still works (Especially with a 6 month old in the house). But hopefully our bad luck will end there and May will only get better.

In Lena news, She is still pulling up on your fingers but not on anything else yet. She is up on her hands and knees and is rocking but hasn't quit got the crawling down yet. But is so close. I will post more pictures later.
