You know your from the South...

We started our child birthing classes last week. At the beginning, we had to go around the room and tell what our "partners" biggest concern was and what they were most excited about. Mine was that I will not have everything ready by the time she gets here (concern) and I can't wait to see her (most excited). Lubin is nervous to drive with her in the car (concern) and he can't wait to see her (most excited). There are only 11 couples in our class and remember these are all first time parents. 3 out of the 11 couples said the guy was worried that the baby would be born on the weekend and they would miss a football game. One said there due date was AU vs. UA weekend and he was afraid he would miss the game. Another said he had not missed a home game since '96 and did not want to break his streak. The other one was due Ole Miss game and he runs the audio at the stadium. I thought it was so funny. You can definitely tell we live in the South and that our lives revolve around college football. Lubin is just excited she is coming before hunting season and after fishing season.

We are trying to finish everything up. Her nursery is almost ready, just a few things left to do and then I will post pictures. She is getting so big and you can constantly feel her move. She has really run out of room. We start our weekly doctors appointments tomorrow and I'm very excited to hear what the doctor has to say. Hopefully I will have nursery pictures up for you soon!

New Belly Shot

I wanted to let everyone see how much Lena is growing. I feel like the only way you can really tell is to see my big belly. Angela took these pictures for me and laughed the whole time she was doing it cause she said my stomach is HUGE!! Just think we still have 6 more weeks to go.

War Eagle!

It is that time of year again and I couldn't be more excited. I LOVE college football and this year is going to be exceptionally fun because before it is over our little princess will be here! I am sad I will not be attending any of the games this year but Lena is worth every sacrafice. We were invited to go to this first game but with the way my feet have been swelling Lubin did not think it would be a good idea. We went to our friends Trey and Mistee to watch it instead and had just as good of a time. Speaking of feet, Lubin thought it would be funny while he was taking a picture of Lena's first football game to take a picture of my swollen feet. This is only half way through the day it is nothing compared to what they look like at the end of the night.


I was lucky for a long time. The swelling (or just chubbiness) has now moved to my face.
I did not share this with everyone during the shower post but wanted to share it now. Aunt Debbie (Shannon's mother) gave my this shirt at my shower for Lena's first football season. It was Shannon and Shelley's when they were little and is going to be passed down to Shannon baby. Eva Faith (Shelley's daughter) is an Alabama fan so Aunt Debbie couldn't give it to her. Hopefully Lena will wear it her first football season and then she will have a little friend next football season who will be wearing it. :) No pressure Shannon.

8 weeks & 5 days left!

I haven't posted a belly picture in a while so here it is. This is at 31 weeks and 2 days! I can't believe how big she is getting. I still think she is facing my back so I feel her bottom and elbows (this is just my guess) most of the time. She is big enough that when she gets the hiccups(which happens at least once a day) Lubin can feel them.

The furniture is here!!!

They delivered her furniture yesterday. We had them put everything were we had discussed but you know that I can never make my mind up. Lubin is going to do some rearranging later but I wanted to go ahead and show everyone her stuff.

Her crib!! I had to try the dust ruffle on just to see how it would look.

The changing pad will go on top of her dresser. Hopefully we will have some blinds up soon.

Shower time!!!

Here are a couple of pictures from the shower last weekend. I saved you from the hundreds of me opening gifts. But for those of you who couldn't make it I wanted to share these few with you.


This was from Derenda. The story is Maxine (Lubin's grandmother) got it at her baby shower when she was pregnant with Jim (Lubin's father). Then she passed it down to Derenda at Lubin's baby shower and she is passing it down to us. It has a picture of Jim and Lubin on it and is just waiting for Lena's picture!

I did tear up with this one (pregnancy hormones). This was my first baby doll that was given to me by my grandmother. Her name was Baby Lena! I had forgotten about her till I told my mother that we wanted to name our baby girl Lena and she reminded me of her. She tried to find Lena her own baby doll but the company that made them is no longer in business. I think she will enjoy (appreciate) the original baby Lena much more though.

I couldn't have asked for a better shower. Thank you for everyones thoughtfulness. We (Lubin, Lena, and I) are truly blessed to have so many people that love and care about us.

I also want to thank Aunt Debbie, Shannon, and Shelley. I know y'all worked really hard and it was beyond anything I could have ever dreamed. I love y'all!!

Phase 1 Complete!!

We are done with the painting!! Lubin is very excited. I think it looks great. They have her crib and her dresser in but we are waiting for them to get her rocking chair(thanks Mamaw & Pop) in before they deliver everything. We are extremely excited on how it is all coming together. Thanks Mike for all your help!!!
